Discover a different side of Roatán with a day at Brady’s Cay, a private island escape just off French Cay, surrounded by clear Caribbean water and the natural beauty of the Mesoamerican Reef.
This is not simply another beach stop. Brady’s Cay is a guest-only private island where you can slow down, enjoy the sea and build the day around exactly what you feel like doing. Relax under a palapa with a tropical drink, swim in warm Caribbean water, explore by kayak or paddleboard, go snorkeling, add a high-energy watersport, enjoy lunch by the sea or simply find a hammock and do absolutely nothing for a while.
Family-owned since 1977, Brady’s Cay has evolved from a private island retreat into a destination designed around the things that make a Caribbean day memorable: open space, calm water, island food, tropical drinks, watersports and an unhurried atmosphere. Unlike a busy public beach, access is limited to registered guests, helping preserve the quieter, more relaxed character of the island.
Access to the cay is by a short boat crossing from the mainland reception area, so even arriving at Brady’s Cay feels like part of the experience: leave Roatán’s main island behind and in just a few minutes find yourself stepping onto a small private island surrounded by Caribbean blue.
One of the advantages of Brady’s Cay is flexibility. You do not have to purchase an expensive all-inclusive package if all you want is a beautiful beach day, but you can also choose food, drinks and activities in advance if you prefer a more complete experience.
The Day Pass is the simplest way to enjoy Brady’s Cay and gives you the freedom to create your own day once you arrive.
Your pass provides access to the private island and beach facilities, including beach chairs, loungers, umbrellas, hammocks and palapas, so you can settle in and enjoy the island at your own pace. Wi-Fi is also available on the island.
Swim, relax on the beach, enjoy the shade, order something from the restaurant or bar and add any activities you would like during your visit. Food, drinks and optional activities are not included with this package and can be purchased separately.
This is an excellent choice for guests who want a relaxed Roatán private island beach day without committing in advance to food, drinks or watersports.
For guests who plan to spend the day relaxing by the Caribbean with a cold drink never far away, the Basic Drink Package combines private-island access with 8 drinks or local beers during your stay.
The package includes entrance to Brady’s Cay, use of the beach facilities and a total of eight drinks from the Basic selection. Blended cocktails are excluded.
It is a simple option for couples, friends and groups who want to enjoy the beach and island atmosphere while knowing that their drinks are already taken care of.
The Premium Drink Package is designed for guests who want the full tropical-drink experience.
It includes entrance to Brady’s Cay, access to the beach facilities and 8 cocktails per person to enjoy throughout your stay.
Find your favorite spot beside the sea, take a swim between drinks, enjoy the view from a hammock or spend part of the day exploring the water. There is no rigid schedule — the idea is to enjoy the island at your own rhythm.
Brady’s Cay also operates a full island bar with cocktails, spirits, beer, soft drinks, juices and tropical beverages available to purchase separately.
For guests who want the most complete experience without having to organize every part of the day separately, our Full Package combines beach access, food, drinks and a water activity.
The adult package includes private island access, an à la carte lunch, 2 cocktails and your choice of one water activity: paddleboard, kayak or snorkeling equipment.
Children ages 4–6 are $50, while children ages 7–12 are $60.
This package works especially well for travelers who want to arrive knowing that the essential parts of the day are already included, while still having the freedom to add other activities once on the island.
A banana boat ride can also be arranged with a minimum of four participants.
Roatán lies beside the Mesoamerican Reef, one of the great coral reef systems of the Caribbean, and snorkeling is naturally one of the highlights of a day at Brady’s Cay. The island sits in clear water with reef access close to shore, making it possible to combine a beach day with time discovering what lies beneath the surface.
Guests choosing the Full Package can select snorkeling equipment as their included water activity.
For those who want to go further, Brady’s Cay also advertises a guided snorkeling tour as an optional experience. This gives guests the possibility of turning a relaxed beach visit into a more dedicated Roatán snorkeling experience without having to plan an entirely separate excursion.
A paddleboard is one of the most peaceful ways to enjoy the water surrounding Brady’s Cay.
Stand up and paddle along the island shoreline, or simply take your time getting comfortable on the calm Caribbean water. From the board you get a completely different perspective of the cay, with the sea beneath you and the island behind you.
Paddleboard is one of the three activities available with our Full Package and can also be enjoyed as a watersport at Brady’s Cay.
If you prefer to sit back and explore at your own pace, choose a kayak.
Kayaking gives you a chance to move quietly around the water surrounding the island, enjoy the scenery and spend time on the sea without the speed or noise of a motorized activity.
It is suitable for guests looking for something active without turning the day into a strenuous excursion, and kayaking can also be selected as the included activity with our Full Package. Brady’s Cay lists it among its principal watersports.
Relaxation is only one side of Brady’s Cay.
If you want more adrenaline, jet skis are available as an optional activity. Leave the quiet shoreline behind for a while and experience the Caribbean at speed before returning to your lounger, lunch or cocktail.
Jet skis are not included in our standard packages and are offered as an additional experience.
Groups and families have even more ways to get out on the water.
Brady’s Cay lists banana boat rides, Ski Sofa and water bikes among the watersports available on the island. These activities offer everything from a fun shared ride to a more relaxed way of exploring the water and are a great addition for groups who want to mix beach time with something more active.
For the banana boat, a minimum of four participants is required.
Availability and pricing of optional activities can vary, so they can be confirmed when arranging your visit.
A day at Brady’s Cay does not have to be only about the beach.
Guests can also add a Monkey & Sloth Experience, one of Roatán’s most popular wildlife encounters. It is an opportunity to combine a private island day with one of the experiences many visitors associate most strongly with Roatán, without needing to turn the entire day into a multi-stop island tour.
This experience is optional and is not included in the standard beach packages.
If your idea of a perfect island day involves doing as little as possible, Brady’s Cay also offers massage as an optional experience.
After swimming or spending time in the sun, slow things down even further with a relaxing treatment in the peaceful island setting before returning to the beach.
There is no reason to leave Brady’s Cay when you get hungry.
The island has its own kitchen and bar, allowing you to move naturally from beach time to lunch and back to the water without interrupting your day.
The menu combines casual beach food with Caribbean flavors and seafood. Options published by Brady’s Cay include dishes such as ceviche, conch, fish, shrimp and other seafood, alongside familiar favorites, snacks and shareable plates. The bar offers spirits, local drinks, cocktails, beer, juices, soft drinks and smoothies.
Guests on the Full Package receive an à la carte lunch and two cocktails. Day Pass and drink-package guests can order food separately from the island menu.
It means you can arrive in the morning, choose your spot by the water and stay there for the day — there is no need to leave the island to find somewhere for lunch or a drink.
You do not need to fill every hour with an excursion.
Some of the best time at Brady’s Cay is simply spent swimming, sitting beneath a palapa, lying in a hammock, enjoying the sea breeze or doing nothing at all.
That is an important part of what makes the experience different from tours built around a strict itinerary. Brady’s Cay itself describes the island as a place where activities are available but never required; guests are free to participate or enjoy the beach at their own pace.
You might spend the morning snorkeling and the afternoon in a hammock. Another guest might choose paddleboarding, lunch and cocktails. A family might mix beach time with a banana boat ride, while a couple may prefer a massage and a quiet table by the water.
There is no single correct way to experience Brady’s Cay.
Because the day can be as quiet or as active as you want, Brady’s Cay Beach Day works for many different kinds of travelers.
Couples can find a peaceful private-island atmosphere. Families can combine swimming and beach time with watersports and wildlife. Groups can enjoy drinks, lunch and activities together without constantly moving from one location to another.
For cruise passengers, the biggest advantage is simplicity: Brady’s Cay works as a single-destination Roatán shore excursion, allowing you to spend more of your limited time enjoying the island instead of traveling between several different attractions. Brady’s Cay specifically promotes the experience to cruise travelers and describes it as a day centered on one private-island destination.
Transportation is not included in our advertised package prices.
We intentionally keep it separate because transportation requirements vary depending on whether you are arriving at Coxen Hole, Mahogany Bay, a hotel, resort or private accommodation, as well as the number of people in your group.
Private transportation can be arranged separately, giving us the flexibility to organize the most appropriate option for your location and schedule.
After reaching the Brady’s Cay mainland reception area, access to the private island is by a short boat crossing. The official Brady’s Cay information describes the boat transfer itself as approximately five minutes.
If you are visiting Roatán on a cruise, simply provide your ship name and arrival information when booking so we can help coordinate your day around your time in port.
There are days when you want an organized excursion with every minute planned.
And then there are days when the Caribbean itself is the destination.
Brady’s Cay Beach Day gives you both possibilities.
Start with simple private-island access and decide what you want once you arrive. Choose a drink package and spend the day between the beach and the bar. Select the Full Package and have lunch, cocktails and a water activity already included. Add snorkeling, jet skis, a banana boat ride, wildlife, a massage or another watersport if you feel like doing more.
Or choose none of them.
Find a hammock, look out over the Caribbean and enjoy the fact that, for a few hours, there is nowhere else you need to be.
One private island. Clear Caribbean water. Beach, reef, food, drinks, watersports and the freedom to experience Roatán your way.
That is Brady’s Cay Beach Day.
